St. Francis de Hieronymo Catholic Church, St. Paul, Kansas

St. Francis de Hieronymo Catholic Church.
Our church is located on the east edge of St. Paul, Kansas on Highway K47.  The church, rectory and parish gardens sit on the site of the historic Catholic Osage Mission which was founded in 1847 as a school for Osage children.  For more information about our history click this LINK.

Our existing church building was dedicated in May of 1884.  The rectory and parish offices, located immediately west of the church, serve both St. Francis and St. Ambrose Catholic Churches.  The rectory basement includes meeting spaces and classrooms that are used by both parishes.

Other Facilities:

St. Francis Parish Gardens.
The Parish Gardens were built by Passionist priests and students during our Passionist era.  The gardens include a beautiful stone bell tower, a winding paved path with Stations of the Cross, a screened-in shelter and meditation building, statues and a small cemetery. The cemetery contains the bodies of several Passionist priest and brothers..  The garden may be used for personal prayer and meditation by local people or travelers; and is used for several services and celebrations during the year.

While the garden was built during our Passionist era the garden, church and rectory grounds are the original site of the Catholic Osage Mission and the Jesuit men's boarding school that preceded the Passionists.  For more information on the history of our church and its effect on the history of the region, follow this LINK.

St. Francis Parish Hall.
Our parish hall is located at the northeast corner of 1st and Lafayette, or about one block west of the church.  The building has two large multi-purpose rooms each capable of seating more than 100 people.  The west hall includes a well-equipped restaurant-quality kitchen.  The building is available for church and community events.  Call the St. Francis rectory for information regarding rental and scheduling.
